Take part in Reading’s first Science Slam
We are looking for six students (undergrad or post-grad) or post-doc researchers to perform at our first Science Slam in Reading on Saturday 22 March 2014.
What is a Science Slam?
A thrilling competition in which scientists present their mind-boggling work in a comprehensible and accessible way in just six minutes. At the end of the evening the audience vote and decide: which scientist will thrive and which will struggle to survive. Prizes for the winners.
• MUST be fun
• MUST be theatrical AND creative AND scientific
• MUST NOT use PowerPoint (it’s not a lecture!)
• MUST NOT be dull

We are working with local theatre company Reading Rep to help you develop your performance and provide you with rehearsal time and support. Great for your CV and future career.

Prospective Slammers please email firstname.lastname@example.org stating what your research area is and why you want to take part, in 150 words max. Expressions of interest must be sent by Sunday 9 February 2014 and we will contact you on Wed 12 Feb to let you know if you’ve been selected, after which rehearsals begin.
